Learning through Diversity and Equality. All aspects of social inclusion and human rights
Introduction
Tools and techniques for harnessing and directing our capabilities.
Inside our head we have a huge resource in our brain. It is an amazing thinking machine; our thinking determines how we perceive, act, it creates our personality; it makes us choose, decide, produces questions and is the source of how we feel. However unlike most machines we do not normally have a manual about how you effectively work it. These series of workshops provide a fascinating and informative journey through your capabilities and how we work. Our obvious passion will shine through and guide you along the way.
A bit about me and why this series of workshops
These particular workshops are very personal and important to me. I was born in to a single parent family in a very deprived area. I had to face many challenges and experienced much that I can only describe as unjust. To survive in this I had to develop a strong work ethic, strong personal values, and a sense of responsibility for my community. Today I am still motivated by my early experience; I will always remember the hunger, the feeling of being excluded and not being good enough. I am now driven by working to combat social injustice. My sense of social responsibility, community and the importance of belief in the potential in people originate from this time.
These workshops and the tools and techniques presented in them have proved to be invaluable for me and have hugely contributed to other people's performance. Within these workshops I intend to share my life’s work. I have dedicated the past thirty years of my life in exploring, and understanding the human condition. Why we behave the way we do, why some people spark and achieve whilst others don’t. Why some are prejudiced and discriminatory and others are not. Why some think clearly and others don’t. Why some put things off and others don’t. Some are decisive and others not. What motivates and demotivatesus?
As mentioned these workshops gather together important tools and techniques that will work for you. To me it is my duty to assist and inform you how we can tap into full capabilities, inspire others, motivate ourselves and make our aspirations a reality.
I believe that by working with these tools and techniques we can personally and organisationally unravel the codes and information locked in our heads and discover a totally new way of seeing the world. Throughout all of these workshops I intend to stimulate, provoke and entertain, above all I wish to inspire you to create a more just and equal society.
The Workshops
My approach is to not only deliver the workshops contents but to elicit your enthusiasm and engage with your imagination in ways that are entertaining and effective. Although there can never be any certainties I can guarantee 100% from me to get the best results from you.
These workshops are relevant to all those working in the Equality, Diversity, Social Inclusion and Human Rights arena. This is where I have focused my attention for the past 15 years. These tools can also be used to think critically around other subjects and areas. By changing how you think and by changing your perspectives you expand your possibilities until you begin to see what you were unable to before. The aim of this series is to
- focus on building resilience, resourcefulness and personal capacity
- provide a set of how to tools for individual and organisational use
- provide insights into how you think
- create new possibilities
- target specifically key points that leverage change
- Making clarity of thinking easier
What is an Equality Tool and Technique?
Tools are instruments. Such tools include; assessment instruments, evaluation tools, etc. You need to learn how to skillfully use these tools and build your own toolkit. The term techniques refer to the way in which we use coaching tools. A technique is the art of using a tool, or the way in which the tool is used. These can be used to help individuals address specific professional development issues or to assist when taking on a particularly challenging work role or project.
These tools and techniques have the potential to both add value to the services you provide and increase your service range. No matter what your role or organisation these will lead you to new ideas and unique insights. They work most effectively when the individual has clarity about the issues to be addressed. The simple reality is that you are most likely to engage with and champion the things that you have a hand in creating.
